Word Press

I was trying to install word press on my I-Book. It was complicated for me even I have a guide. After a few attempts, it was done. Then another problem prevented me from taking a good sleep, I started installing Word Press since the night before.
It was the template. Yes, I can download the template and move it to the appropriate location and that's it. But then the links have to be edited. Really no idea...no...that time I was thinking how I edited my blogger template without sweating. I am still google'ing around on 'Word Press, templates....etc'.
Any Word Press user who can give me advices and suggestions?
